Once we work out the structure it will be put inside Mediawiki:Sidebar as a site browsing menu.

Current rough proposition, really please edit to your taste. Or make an alternative proposition under "Idea N" and we will try to mix it all together.

Idea 1[]

  • Navigation
    • Sawfish
    • Contact - info about mailing lists, and the IRC channel
    • Screenshots
    • Scripts. Scripts written by users. I'm thinking of something along the lines of the Emacs Lisp List, with every script getting its own page.
    • Themes. Like the Scripts Category, only for themes. I'm not sure about this one since themes.org already does that (badly in my opinion).
    • Programming What about a Programming section focused on librep/sawfish (more at a tutorial level)?
    • .... ok, I'll wait a bit until others will give their input here.
  • Documentation
    • please help in deciding what...
    • ...documentation links we want here

Sven, I like your structure, please go ahead and edit the sidebar, etc, to make it work. If any problem arisies we can always fix it later :-). PS: unfortunately I'll be again away for the weekend, so do not hesistate to make bigger modifications. Janek Kozicki 15:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I posted my ideas for the Scripts section in Talk:SawfishWikiLibrary. An example of what I think the page for a script should roughly look like can be found at here: Jump-or-exec. Such a page would be put into Category:Script and thus appear in the category listing. Any Comments? Sven Schoenung 22:09, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Good for me. We need to find out where to ask for text file uploading, according to this one http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Help:Uploading_files --Aav 06:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Since there hasn't been any negative feedback since yesterday, i'll go with what i proposed. About the text file uploading: I made a request using the Special:Contact form and am waiting for an answer. Sven Schoenung 17:57, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

How about a DotSawfish or SawfishRC page so Sawfish users can share their startup scripts? Could be a section under Scripts, I suppose. Haslup 15:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

As long as those startup scripts consist of more than just a lot of (require 'foo) statements I don't see why not. We could have a "startup scripts" category for that. We probably need some kind of naming convention here. Only one file named .sawfishrc can be uploaded to the wiki. They had to be named somthing like .sawfishrc-<initials-of-author> or so. --Sven Schoenung 16:03, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Correction: They had to be name .sawfishrc-<initials-of-author>.jl. Only .jl files are allowed at the moment. --Sven Schoenung 16:05, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
A good idea I think. Should it be a section in Scripts, or a separate page? Janek Kozicki 23:43, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
